Bath Bridge
Clouds Motif

This hand carved motif was a frequently used imaginary ornamental motif in the Tamerlane Era. It has been stated in many resources that this illumination motif was also called the Chinese cloud in China which depicted the steam and fire that came out of the nose of Dragons and Simurgs during the fierce battles. This motif is considered to be one of the most frequently used and was first introduced in Turkish ornamentation art in the 15th century, especially popular during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II.
